On April 27, 2011 many tornadoes swept across Alabama causing fatalities and distressing neighborhoods. View the slide show below filled with the gruesome events in Birmingham, AL.

As the hurricane season is upon us, we remind everyone of the hardships nature can bring to anyone, anywhere, and at any time and the importance of preparation, preparedness, support and volunteers. As we prepare for another hurricane season, letÂ’s review lessons learned so we can be better prepared each season. We visited Birmingham 2011 after the storms had hit. Each year, many people are killed or seriously injured by tornadoes despite advanced warning. Some did not hear the warning while others received the warning but did not believe a tornado would actually affect them. After you have received the warning or observed threatening skies, you must make the decision to seek shelter before the storm arrives. It could be the most important decision you would possibly ever make! Please take a look at the pictures above and always remember how important it is to take a warning seriously.
